I have been teaching seventh grade world history at Walters since 2003.

Students in grade seven study the social, cultural, political, economic, and technological changes that occurred in Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas throughout the years of c. 500-1789 A.D. Students learn how the contributions of previous civilizations have affected later civilizations, and how the modern world has its roots in the past.

My favorite part of history that we cover in class would have to be the fall of the Roman Empire.  However, there are many other areas I also enjoy that are not far behind; these include China, Medieval Europe, and the Americas.

As to my education:  I received an AA Degree from Santa Rosa Junior College in 1998, a BA in History from San Francisco State University in 2000, a teaching credential from Dominican University in 2001, and a MS in Educational Leadership from California State University, East Bay in 2008.

Additionally, each year (since 2007) Mr. Sachs and I organize and lead a trip to Washington DC for interested 8th grade students.
