Welcome to 8th Grade English-Language Arts Distance Learning! My goal is to connect with my wonderful 8th grade students and their families to work together and make distance learning an enjoyable experience while learning the Common Core English-Language Arts curriculum.
Curriculum Overview:
- Textbook: California Collections Anthology
- -Consumables: Close Reader and Performance Assessment

- -Writing: both formal and informal, focusing on three writing genres: argumentative, narrative, and explanatory.
- Outside independent reading
- IXL online program for spelling, vocabulary,writing and grammar

Zoom (for daily class)
Google Classroom (student access assignment instructions and submit work)
School Loop (Official grade book and communication between teachers and students/parents)

Grading Policy: Grades will be earned on an accumulated percentage basis.
Homework/Class Work: 30 %
Tests/Quizzes/Projects: 30%
Writing: 30%
Required Reading: 10 %
